Google access and data

Go Digital, ABOS and other TechMAC products let you connect a Google account, if you choose. This page says exactly what each one can access, why, and how to take that access away.

01Who this covers

This page covers Go Digital, ABOS and any other product of TechMAC (technologymac.co.uk, 147 Ilkeston Rd, Nottingham NG7 3HE) that offers Google sign-in. Go Digital is a multi-tenant content management and ordering platform for local businesses. ABOS is an operating system for a business: CRM, finance, HR, projects, documents, communication and a public website in one place.

Connecting Google is always optional. It only happens when you sign in with Google and approve the permissions on Google's own consent screen, and you can take them away at any time.

02What Go Digital can access

Google Search Console, read-only. Go Digital can look at your site's search performance and indexing (clicks, impressions, click-through rate, average position and indexing status) for the Search Console properties your Google account already has access to, so your admin can show how your website performs in Google Search. It cannot change anything in Search Console.

03What ABOS can access

Each item below is requested only when you connect the account for it, and used only by the screen or feature named.

Google Search Console: search performance and indexing for your properties, your sitemaps (and, when you ask, submitting one), and whether a page is indexed.

Google Business Profile: your listing's views, calls and direction requests; your reviews and, when you choose to, replying to a review or publishing a post.

Google Cloud: listing your Cloud projects and switching on the Google APIs the integration needs, when you ask.

Google Drive, Docs and Sheets: browsing your files and folders, creating folders, Docs and Sheets, reading a Doc, reading a Sheet and adding rows to it, and linking a Drive file into ABOS's document register. Files are only read or changed through the screens you use.

Google Calendar and Meet: creating a calendar event with a Google Meet link when you schedule a meeting, and showing your upcoming events that have a Meet link.

Gmail (ABOS Communication): reading and sending email and saving drafts from a mailbox you connect, and syncing its calendar. Some features, such as drafting a reply, send the text you are working on to an AI model provider to produce the result.

04What we do and do not do with Google data

We ask only for the permissions a feature needs. We do not read anything outside those permissions, such as email, files, contacts or calendars you have not connected for that purpose.

Google data is shown to you, inside your own admin, and used to run the feature you chose. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties except service providers that process it on our behalf to run the feature, or where the law requires it.

We do not let people read it unless you ask us for support, it is needed for security or to prevent abuse, or the law requires it.

05How we store it

To keep a connection working we store an OAuth refresh token for your Google account. It is stored encrypted on our server and is used only for the features above.

Other Google data is requested from Google when you use a feature and may be held briefly in a cache so the screen loads quickly. Cached data and the stored token are deleted when you disconnect Google or ask us to delete them.

06Google API Services User Data Policy

The use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs by Go Digital, ABOS and TechMAC's other products will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. You can read that policy at https://developers.google.com/terms/api-services-user-data-policy.

07Taking access away and deleting your data

You can disconnect Google at any time from the product's admin (in ABOS: Settings, Integrations). You can also remove a product's access yourself at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

When you disconnect, we delete the stored token and any cached Google data. To ask us to delete anything else we hold about you, email system@techmac.co.uk and we will respond within one month.
